How many times have you thought about what you would do if you had more time and money?
We are offering you a business model which runs predominantly in November, December and January and with which you have the opportunity to make good money in just three months time.
The most busy and affluent season of the year in malls is Christmas. That is known by most business people. What is not always known is how to best capitalize on this busy season.
Sheepskin Gifts, a division of Francis Enterprises, has been expanding exponentially over the last 9 years. In 2007 after seven years of running it more or less as a family business, it was decided to expand into wholesale and training other owner operators. Since then we went from 7 to 65 malls operating with our products.
WHY Sheepskin Gifts?
 We have developed a successful pattern for any owner operator starting with one mall (usually the biggest and strongest in the area run by himself) and then going up to 7-8 owner operated malls in the surrounding area.
We are taking responsibility for our owner operators, managers and sales personnel in that we:
A) Assist to help find the right malls in their area
B) Train the owner operator and manager in basic sales patterns, to restocking and ordering as well finance control and administration and
C) Provide guidance during the season as needed.
Sheepskin Gifts products are natural and of the highest quality. While they are manufactured in China as so many products sold in our market today, the raw material originates in Australia.
Sheepskin is a very unique fiber unlike any other in the world and it has qualities like NO other material. In fact the qualities ARE what guarantees its success over any quick-buck or cheap “plastic” product that loses its value or multiple sale potential after a while.
Through strong, direct and personal business ties with the manufacturers of these products we don’t rely on unknown companies in China or other parts of the world for Quality Control, but we do it ourselves.
 Even when other cart owners and businesses complain about a bad economy and less sales in the same locations and malls we are in, our sales have done well year after year.
It has been found over the years that QUALITY of a product is vital for repeat traffic. Sheepskin sales in the same mall with the same managers have increased year after year with the repeat traffic being estimated (based on customer comments and reports) to be up to 30-40%.
Word of mouth promotion of sheepskin products is very high.
Once this product is sold in a mall the leasing agents usually WANT and INSIST on having the product back next year as our total sales over the holidays can be higher than most of the carts there.
POINT OF CAUTION
Before I give anyone a false impression that it doesn’t take WORK to sell this product, let me put in a word of caution: IT DOES TAKE WORK TO SELL THIS PRODUCT. But it isn’t a “mystery” and it doesn’t include any solicitations or unfriendly approaches of customers who don’t want to be approached. There is no pitch or slant or lies being told about the product – the concentration is on INFORMATION. It’s not a “demonstration product” as in most cases it doesn’t take any demonstration beyond having the customer touch it. We’ll train you on how to sell the product.
Part of the success lies in sales people’s training (which we do and / or help arrange), a successful restock pattern so everything needed by the public is available rapidly at the cart and – as gone over – a product that sells because of its quality, not because of a sales pitch.
Stress needs to be put on the fact that getting involved and putting some INTENTION behind this product one can out-sell most other products in any mall while setting up a business for the years to come.
PROFIT MARGIN
Obviously the one thing we all want and why we are working in the first place is profit, money we can take home when the season is over.
Profit margins will vary based on your costs and how you operate your cart. The profit-margin of sheepskin the way we have it set up is about 20-35% depending on size of mall and management, sales, etc. This is obviously based on the expenses at each mall with the mall rent being a major factor. Knowing that our average sales were about $125,000 with some malls peaking in over $400,000 and more, you can see that it can be a good season.
It is one thing to go through a trial and error period for a year (or years) and it is quite another to use what has been found successful.
You might be a first-time cart entrepreneur or an “old hat” who has had carts for years and knows the whole gig. So obviously our communications will depend on your experience, but the above are the general points taken into account when we advise people how to be successful in the cart business.
